Great place to sit at the beach or stroll the boardwalk and enjoy nature. The park has a number of different types of scenery, marshlands and of course, Long Island Sound. They also offer picnic grounds with tables available. On a good day get there early, because they can fill up fast and have been known to close the gates by 1 or 2pm.
I went here for a beach cleanup. We didn’t have to clean much where I was walking except an excessive amount of cigarette butts.
One of my favorite beaches in Connecticut I've been going there since i was little. You find the prettiest shells and its never over crowded. Just a nice group of beach loving families and its very clean and safe! Go early and take a walk out to the island!
It was a cloudy day when I visited but it was still a great visit. There was a little area at the end of the beach where we found tiny crabs. The views were very beautiful and it is a nice place to relax on the beach.
Parking isn’t ideal and there aren’t covered pavilion areas, but the beach is definitely worth a visit.
Easy to get to. Right off highway. Park is a great place to take a walk and regroup. Pack a picnic and invite a friend. Peaceful and clean. Don't forget your beach chair to take in the ocean view.
Nice Beach. Free entry. No facilities. Can walk out to the offshore island at low tide, but be careful. Water is fairly shallow with no surf to speak of.
